Almost all vehicles with an automatic transmission have a factory transmission cooler inside the radiator. Most standard transmissions make less heat and do not have a cooler.
But, if you pull heavy loads or live in a hot climate, you may need more than your factory cooler. Adding a high cooling capacity cooler can increase the life of your transmission because it prevents or mitigates overheating.
